2016 Sno-Valley Short Film and Animation Festival Submission
The first annual, 2016 Sno-Valley Short Film and Animation Festival is a juried film festival (with an unjudged portion for younger participants) that will take place on February 20, 2016[1], at Monroe River Valley Farm, 19829 168th St. SE, Monroe, WA 98272.
The junior, unjudged portion of the festival is for entrants in grades K-5. There will be an early (12:00pm)[2] screening of junior submissions and our young filmmakers will be able to walk the green carpet, where photographer(s) will be on hand to catch their arrival to the screening. Each entry will receive a medal of recognition/participation.[3]
For 6th grade through 12th grade, there will be an afternoon (3:00pm)[2] screening. The entrants will have the opportunity to walk the green carpet and then screen their films. After the screening there will be an awards ceremony. Entries will be judged by a (to be determined) panel in several categories including, but not limited to: Most Original Idea, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, etc.[4][5]
For entrants 18 years and older, there will be an evening (7:00pm)[2] screening. Participants will walk the green carpet and then screen their films. An awards ceremony will follow the screening. Entries will be judged by a (to be determined) panel in several categories including, but not limited to: Most Original Idea, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, etc.[4]
Following the awards ceremony will be a champagne gala for participants and their guests aged 21 and older.
Deadline to apply is Monday, November 30, 2015.[6]
Filmmakers will be notified of acceptance by January 1, 2016.
Filmmakers must be present during the screening of their films.
Only one entry per filmmaker will be accepted.[7]
